Position : Graduate Research Assistantship

Salary : tuition waiver+stipend

Two graduate research assistantship positions are available immediately. The research project is funded by NSF and is on streaming media delivery in the Internet. The support for each position covers a 12-month stipend for two years. A tuition waiver is also available when the position is filled. This support aims to help a graduate student work toward a Master's degree in Computer Science. Qualifications for applicants are: 1) a B.S. degree in Math, CS, or EE; 2) knowledge and experience in computer networks is preferred; and 3)having a strong desire to gain research ability. The positions can start either in Fall 2007 or Spring 2008. The deadline for applications for the fall semester is August 30th, 2007. The applications for the Spring semester are open from now until the positions are filled. Applicants should send a CV and a copy of a transcript showing previous courses. Papers or theses in the area of computer networks area are a plus for the application. Undergraduate Research Assistant

Position : Undergraduate Research Assistantship

Salary : $10-$12 per hour

Looking for a Computer Science undergraduate to aid in research setting the Robotics and Intelligent Systems Lab in the Mechanical Engineering Department. Student must have a strong understanding of Linux and C++ programming. Student would be involved in developing software related computer vision, image processing, and robotics. Student would aid faculty member in setting up a Linux network in the lab as some of the work being conducted is distributed across multiple computers.
